Audience profile

This is a link to the survey I created on survey monkey to help me build up an audience profile.

Below are the results I gathered from my survey.

This shows that the majority of people that took my survey read music magazines.

This shows that the majority of people that took my survey tend to buy music magazines every week and the second highest was every month. This suggests that my magazine should be a weekly or monthly magazine so that it appeals to a wider target audience.

This shows that peoples favourite music genre is indie and their second favourite genre is rock. This tells me that I should possibly create either a rock or indie style magazine as these are the most popular music genres among my audience.

This shows that people are willing to pay between £2.99 and £5.00 for their magazine. As £3.00 is the most commonly answer in my survey I should aim to price my magazine at £3.00 as this is an amount that seems to appeal to the most people.

This question shows me that most people look for information about recent or upcoming gigs in a magazine, the second thing most people look for is information on new artists. This tells me that I should include these in my magazine to make sure it appeals to as many people as possible.

By compiling this survey and analysing my results I now have a much better idea about the audience profile for my magazine. This will allow me to make certain decisions about the price, style and information I will include in my magazine which will help me to appeal to more people and make my magazine the best it can be.

This is a mood board I have constructed to give me an idea of the type of people I want to read my magazine. As I have decided to contruct a rock magazine I have collected images that relate to the rock genre. This gives me an idea of the type of styling that I will have to include in my magazine to reflect the rock genre. These will also give me an idea of what images are already available on rock magazines so I can get an idea of how to make my images look professional.
