January 9th 2012 - This
is the week I set up my blog using blogger, I also edited the design to
how I wanted my blog to look and created all of my separate pages. I uploaded
my design brief and also added in information about myself.
January 16th 2012 - This
week I began researching existing front covers, contents pages and double
page spreads from popular magazines such as NME and Kerrang. During this week I
also began to construct my prelim flat plans.
January 23rd 2012 - This
week I began to analyse a collection of magazine front covers, contents pages
and double page spreads. I constructed these analyses on slideshare and
uploaded them onto my blog under the research pages.
January 30th 2012 -
This is the week I started to take the photographs for my school prelim
magazine. I started to also construct my prelim magazine using the templates provided.
February 6th 2012 –
This week I added my photos onto my prelims front cover and also added all the
text including the masthead, content indicators etc. This meant that I only had
my contents page to begin to construct. Also during this week I completed my
audience research for my music magazine using survey monkey and I also created
a mood board.
February 13th 2012 –
This week I completed my prelim contents page and I uploaded both my prelims
front cover and contents page to my blog as well as their flat plans.
February 20th 2012 -
This week I begin to create the sketches for my music magazines flat plans.
These took quite a while to do as they needed to be hand drawn which took some
time, I also needed to produce plans that I could follow later on in the
construction process. I uploaded these plans onto my blog and annotated them
using slideshare.
February 27th 2012 –
This is the week I created my shot plans for my photographs. I hand drew these
and then uploaded them onto my blog and explained why I’d done certain things.
By the end of the week I had began to take the photographs for my magazine.
March 5th 2012 – This
is the week I began the front cover of my music magazine using photoshop. This
took me quite a while to complete as it is probably the most important page in
my opinion and I wanted to get it right.
March 12th 2012 - I
finished my front cover this week and began to construct my double page spread,
I chose to go onto my double page spread second as I thought that the contents page
was going to be the hardest page to construct. I also finished writing my
article for my double page spread uploaded it onto my blog and made any necessary improvements.
March 19th 2012 –
This week I finished my double page spread and began on my contents page. I not
only used lesson time but I also spent most nights at home trying to get it
right as I found this the most difficult page to complete.
March 26th 2012 – This
week I finished all of my pages off and uploaded them onto my blog. I also let
my teachers see them so that they could give me any constructive criticism on
what I had produced up to this point.
April 2nd 2012 – This
is the week I began my evaluation. As it was the holidays and I had lots of
other work to do I completed two out of the seven evaluations and uploaded them onto
my blog.
April 16th 2012 – This
was the final week of the holidays and my deadline for my evaluations was the
20th. This meant I had five evaluations to do this week but I managed
to get them all done before the deadline and I then uploaded them onto my blog.
April 23rd 2012 - This
is the week we got given our feedback from our magazine pages. I had to make
a few small changes to each of my pages and get them to the point I was 100%
happy with. I also went back and completed my risk assessment for my
photographs and got that uploaded on my blog.
May 6th 2012 – This was my final deadline for my blog, everything
had to be completed and I was not allowed to make any changes to my pages after
this point. I uploaded my schedule this day and made sure everything on my blog
was how I wanted it to be.
